New MONALISA-film premiers in London
The audience of the Vessel Tracking and Monitoring conference, V-TRACKS, consists
of mostly shore-based parties. Representatives from VTS-centres, ports, coast
guards and other authorities dominate.
Captain Ulf Svedberg’s presentation on Sea Traffic Management (STM) was
the highlight of the session on Maritime Technology for the Future. A new film
focusing on how the shore side successfully can assist sea traffic was well
appreciated. Get an insight of how STM would work in practice by watching it.
The full MONALISA 2.0 stand demonstrating route exchange dominated the exhibition area, and most of the approximately 100 conference delegates came to look at the solutions and discuss the concepts with Mr Fredrik Karlsson and Mr Anders Brödje. “The questions were more detailed, and people stayed longer in the exhibit to discuss the STM concept at this conference, than at previous conferences. It seems like the STM concept and route exchange solution are considered to be inevitable parts of the evolution to most people today”, says Anders Brödje.
Many of our shore-based colleagues in the e-navigation domain were present at the conference. We had several informal meetings, where we discussed and coordinated our efforts, in order to make the future happen faster.
